Other than the two minute lapse in the second period that indirectly led to the Marlie first goal I think the ADS played awesome.

GREAT WINS ADS!!

I also hope the Admirals return the favor and skate out for warmups early and for the pregame early...... Total lack of class on Scrivens part, he was the one that started it.
Guess that act of intimidation sort of backfired on em....

I can not for the life of me understand how Terry Koharski gets the nod for a championship series..... the guy is a fricking idiot.

Once again, you're playing with the house's money. the 2-3-2 sucks if you're the home team and you stumble out of the gate. BUT, if you hold serve, like the Admirals have done these past 2 series, you go on the road playing with the house's money. All you have to do is win 1 of 3 on the road to earn 2 cracks at the championnship on home ice. Statistically you should really like your chances in that scenario. Win 2 of 3 and you skate the trophy in their barn.

One thing to note about the Marlies first goal tonight: with Scott Jackson hurt, Aulie & Gudas are the #1 shutdown D-pair.  Aulie went off the ice with the equipment manager shortly before the penalty was called and was not available for the PK.  So we finally allowed a PPG but it was allowed without part of the top PK unit.

As much as Koharksi sucks, tonight's game was called much much better than last night's.

As coming from Joe, when the ADS claim the cup in TO. There will be a celebration party at Scope. (Not be cocky, but I just don't think TO has the skill like the ADS. TO hasn't seen a complete package IMO. Speed, Skill and Physical)

From the AHL's writeup tonight: In Calder Cup history, teams leading the series 2-0 have won 39 of 42 previous Finals

The Admirals have lost only 3 times in their last 44 games.  To win the Cup, Toronto will have to beat us in four out of five.  That's not an easy task for any team.  However, the series isn't over til it's over.  The Admirals need to keep the pedal to the metal and not let off.

After tonight, Tokarski & Janus are now 1-2 in playoff GAA, and Tokarski has also taken over #1 in playoff SV%.

Gotta say, I was impressed with our boys again tonight. Great to see a sellout for what could be the last home game of the season, send em out in style  Smiley

We need to stop retaliating.  It seems like every time we have a delayed penalty coming our way, Toronto starts something and we fall right into and end up evening things out.  Toronto has surprised me with all the dirty, cheap, whiny style of play they brought here.  Nothing major, mind you, just irritating pests. I guess I just expected more from the team representing the west in the finals.  While I agree that the officiating for tonight was better, it still wasn't good.  And i mean that both ways, we got a couple of "questionable" calls to go our way as well.  Nothing as blatant as the goaltender interference call (still amazed that anyone who has ever seen a hockey game could call that).  Keep the pedal down and bring the cup to Norfolk!

Is it just me or is Ben Scrivens the most irritating player we've faced this year. The guy has gotten away with everything these first two games. That goalie interference penalty on Picard is the single worst call I've ever seen at an Admirals game. Dave Andrews and the AHL had to be ashamed of that call. The Marlies played better this game and from what I've read may get 1 or 2 of their injured players back at home. So we still have to play our best for 60 minutes to beat these guys. We're clearly the better team but we still have to take care of business in Toronto. When I see the Admirals again I want it to be at Scope for the celebration party!!!!

The Marlies backup goalie is a fowl mouthed tool..... sits there banging on the glass and yelling while he's supposed to be charting. NOT ONE of the other visiting team goalies acted in such a fashion.... Based on what I saw firsthand right before the Marlies took the ice I'm not so sure Scrivens
is any better.....

And what's with Scrivens coming so far out during the breaks...... get back to your end of the ice ya bum.

I agree with WranglerSM, watching this team has been an honor and a privelege! While it's very possible that the Marlies might win one in their home barn, I don't see them winning 2 out of the next 3 games.  (I really hope one of the local TV stations steps up and broadcasts the away games!)

On another note, it's probably a safe bet that when Terry Koharski looks at the game video, he'll want 2 calls back.  The first is when Skivens skates out of his stance and hits Picard im the head - Koharski called the penalty on Picard.  The second really bad call was when Rosehill head-butted Cote and Koharski called unsportsmanlike conduct on both players. (In reality there was probably an equal number of calls or non-calls that worked to the Admirals favor, but I just don't remember them.)

On a funny note, last night after leaving the parking garage, headed back home... we get by the Popeye's, and see 2 guys in suits standing in the median, trying to cross the street, loaded with chicken and beer.. So, i figured I'd stop and let them thru, and as they stopped in front of the car, I realized it was Brandon Segal and another player, (couldnt tell who, he was further away).. so apparently some of them were celebrating their win with Popeye's and beer Smiley

I thought he called the unsportsmanlike conduct on Rosehill because of the headbutt, but I guess not because if he did it would have been a major or at least a double minor.

I loved how they called that headbutt for unsportsmanlike, but not Scrivens grabbing Conacher's head and shoving it in his crotch.

Scrivens got someone else with his stick last night as well, maybe Picard? The replay even showed it.....  Still, the worst ever call I've ever seen was the goalie interference..... that was sooooo bad.

Having said that, the officiating, and the Admirals skating away from post-whistle scrums was better than the first game....

I'd like to sponsor a broom convention in Toronto and give them tickets to the games up there..... as long as they take their brooms in.  Cool Cool
